Harrogate, Tenn.---- The Wingate University Bulldogs split a doubleheader at Lincoln Memorial University Saturday afternoon in South Atlantic Conference baseball action. LMU won the first game 11-8, while the Bulldogs prevailed 11-7 in game. The Bulldogs move to 4-2 overall and 1-2 in the SAC, while LMU moves to 3-5 overall and 2-1 in the conference.
Game One: LMU 11, Wingate 8Logan Augustine went three-for-four with a homer, two RBI and three runs scored to lead the LMU attack in game one, while
Ryan Burlison added a homer and two RBI.
Scott Miller was four-for-four with a double, RBI and two runs scored, while
Eric Kalman added a pair of RBI for the Railsplitters.

Michael Godinez (Cutler Bay, Fla.) had a homer and two RBI to lead the Wingate attack, while sophomore outfielder
Colby Barnette (Monroe, N.C.) was three-for-four with a double, two RBI and a run scored. Sophomore infielder
Shane Billings (Kernersville, N.C.) had three hits, an RBI and three runs scored, while senior outfielder
Thomas Spitz (West Chester, Pa.) had a double and an RBI.
Spitz gave Wingate a 1-0 lead in the first with an RBI double. LMU loaded the bases in the bottom of the frame, tying the game when
Jonathan Lowe was hit by a pitch.
RBI singles from Miller and Kalman gave the Railsplitters a 3-1 lead in the second, while Burlison started the fourth with a solo homer. Kalman added a sacrifice fly later in the frame to make it 5-1.
Wingate cut into the lead in the fifth. Godinez got it started with his second homer of the year, a solo shot to left center. Clark added an RBI single to make it 5-3. Augustine pushed the lead back to three with a solo homer in the bottom of the frame.
The Bulldogs responded with four runs in the sixth to take the lead. Godinez drove home the first run, while Billings followed with an RBI single. Barnette added a two-run single to put the 'Dogs on top 7-6.
LMU tied it in the seventh on a squeeze bunt from Burlison. The Railsplitters plated four runs in the eighth to regain the lead. An RBI single from
Kyle Floyd put the Railsplitters on top, while a bases-loaded walk and RBI groundout made it 10-7. The final run scored when the runner at first was picked off, putting LMU on top by four.
Barnette lined a one-out double to left center in the ninth, then would score on a balk to make the final score 11-8.
Nick Morabito got the win, moving to 2-0. He tossed 2 1/3 shutout innings, striking out one. Redshirt freshman right-hander
Jimmy Doolittle (Charlotte, N.C.) took the loss, allowing four runs on three hits in one inning of work, striking out one and walking two, falling to 0-1 on the year.
Game Two: Wingate 11, LMU 8Senior catcher

Tyler Napierala (Lebanon, Pa.) each had a homer and two RBI to lead the Wingate attack in game two, while Billings was two-for-five with two RBI. Godinez had a homer and two runs scored, while Spitz was two-for-three with three runs scored.
Brito, Floyd and Burlison each had a homer and two RBI to lead the LMU offense in game two. Miller added a double and a run scored, while
Wes Neiderland had two hits and an RBI.
Spitz reached on a two-out walk in the first, went to third on Clark's single, then scored on a wild pitch. Napierala connected on his first career homer in the second, a two-run shot to left center to give the Bulldogs a 3-0 lead.
Neiderland's RBI single in the second cut the lead to two, but Wingate had the answer, with Clark blasting his third homer of the year to left center in the third, making it 5-1.
Lincoln Memorial scored four times in the third to tie it. Brito started the frame with a solo homer, while Floyd added a two-run shot to cut the lead to one. Burlison connected on LMU's third homer of the inning, a solo shot to left center to make it 5-5.
Godinez put Wingate back on top with his third homer of the season, a solo shot to left center to make it 6-5. Brito's sacrifice fly in the fourth tied the game once again.
That would be all of the scoring until the seventh, when the Bulldogs plated five runs. Two singles and a walk loaded the bases with no outs, while a balk and an error plated the first two runs. Freshman
Bradley Brown (Rockingham, N.C.) followed with a sacrifice fly, while a two-run single from Billings made it 11-6.
Freshman left-hander
Kory Behenna (Bahama, N.C.) got the win, moving to 1-0. He allowed a run in 2 1/3 innings of work, striking out four while walking just one. Augustine took the loss, allowing four runs on two hits in one-third of an inning.
Wingate is back in action Friday, traveling to Coker to open a three-game SAC series at 2 p.m. Saturday's doubleheader will be at 12 p.m.
