Wingate, N.C.----Lenoir-Rhyne University senior attack
Ned Kaish (Atlanta, Ga.) scored four goals, leading the Bears to an 11-5 South Atlantic Conference men's lacrosse victory over host Wingate University at the Irwin Belk Track Complex turf field Saturday night. The L-R Bears improve to 6-4 overall and 5-1 in the SAC. Wingate is 6-7 overall and 4-2 in the SAC.

Ryan Vogrig (Vancouver, B.C.) had two goals to give him 24 scores on the season. Sophomore attack
Austin Murphy (Orillia, Ontario) posted one goal and one assist, while senior midfield
Chase Watts (Winston-Salem, N.C.) had a team-best two assists.

Lenoir-Rhyne never trailed, starting the game on a 4-0 spurt as four different players scored one goal each. Senior midfield
Tanner Botts (Lawrenceville, Ga.) ended the flurry with an unassisted goal at the 2:05 mark of the first quarter, making the score 4-0 Bears.

Vogrig got the Bulldogs on the board with 22 seconds left in the opening frame, taking an assist from Watts. Freshman attack
Jeremy Sullivan (Crofton, Md.) started the second quarter with a goal to cut the deficit to 4-2, thanks to a Murphy helper at the 13:31 mark.

Kaish sandwiched two second-quarter goals (11:05, 4:46) around an unassisted tally from Wingate freshman midfield
Zach Lord (Woodstock, Ga.) to give the Bears a 6-3 edge. Vogrig and Jon Hanlon traded goals to end the half as Lenoir-Rhyne took a 7-4 lead at intermission.

Goldsmith, Jon Hanlon and Kaish scored third quarter goals while the L-R defense held the host Bulldogs scoreless. The Bears led 10-4 after 45 minutes. Goldsmith and Murphy traded fourth-quarter goals to settle the final margin. Murphy's goal was his 23rd of the 2015 campaign.

Both teams took advantage of extra-man opportunities. Wingate scored four goals in eight EMO chances, while Lenoir-Rhyne had three extra-man scores in five tries. Wingate held a slim 10-9 advantage in face-off victories.

Alex Squires (Lawrenceville, Ga.) played the first half. He had seven saves while allowing four goals. L-R freshman goalie
Ryan Crompton (Frederick, Md.) played the second half. The 6-0, 250-pound Crompton had seven saves while surrendering only one goal.

Jacob Ormerod (Lake Mary, Fla.) went the distance. In 60 minutes, he posted 15 saves. Ormerod allowed 11 goals.

The Bulldogs return to action Saturday, visiting Queens University of Charlotte for a 2:30 p.m. match. Lenoir-Rhyne hosts Lindenwood (Mo.) University Tuesday at 4 p.m.
