Wingate, N.C.----The visiting University of Tampa Spartans got two second-half goals from
Nastasia Asgedom Monday afternoon, rallying for a 2-1 victory at Wingate University in NCAA Division II women's soccer action at Pride Park. Wingate led 1-0 at halftime, out-shooting Tampa 7-3 with a 4-0 advantage in shots on goal.
The Spartans tied it 13 minutes into the second half, when Asgedom curled a corner kick just under the opposite post, making it 1-1.
Tampa drew a penalty kick with 12 minutes remaining in regulation and Asgedom converted to give the Spartans the 2-1 advantage.
The Bulldogs ended the day out-shooting Tampa 12-10, with an 8-4 edge in shots on goal.
Caroline Frykgard had seven saves for the Spartans, while senior
