Newberry, S.C.----Wingate University bolted to a 10-1 halftime lead and never looked back, taking a 17-6 South Atlantic Conference road triumph over Newberry College in men's lacrosse action Saturday night at Setzler Field. The Bulldogs' 17 goals are a season-high.

Padden scored twice in the first frame. He put Wingate on the board first at the 13:23 mark and the Bulldogs would never trail.

Wingate pitched a shutout in the second stanza, outscoring Newberry 6-0. Ferentinos had two goals to lead the Bulldogs. Johnson finished the first half scoring on an unassisted goal with three seconds to play.
