Wingate, N.C.----The 14th-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs held visiting Limestone College to a season-low 193 yards of offense Saturday night, rolling to a 34-3 victory in South Atlantic Conference football action at Irwin Belk Stadium. Wingate improves to 6-0 overall and 4-0 in the SAC, while the Saints fall to 2-4 overall and 1-2 in league play.
THOUGHTS FROM DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR RASHAAN JORDAN
"I have been blessed with the talent that we have. We have a lot of veteran guys who have seen a lot of hard football games. We took this Limestone football program and offense very seriously. They put up some major points against a defense we respect in Catawba. We knew they were going to have a lot of firepower coming out into this game, so the concentration was there, the focus was there, the intensity was there in practice to go out and execute and do our jobs there and that was the result that they got and I am proud of them. It always starts with the run game. Our defensive line is fabulous. We've got that great linebacker corp. You've got to stop the run first. And that makes things difficult on offenses when they have to get behind the sticks. Our D-Line was able to control the line of scrimmage and our linebackers were hitting the gaps. Limestone got into some uncomfortable situations and that is where you get the picks."
