Jefferson City, Tenn.----Sophomore forward
Kaitlyn Cox scored an 85th-minute game-winning goal Saturday night as visiting Wingate University picked up a huge 2-1 victory at Carson-Newman University in South Atlantic Conference women's soccer action at McCown Field. Wingate improves to 11-3-1 overall and 7-2 in league play, while the Eagles falls to 9-5-1 on the season and 6-2-1 in conference play.

FIRST HALF

- In the 59th minute Cox laid the ball of to Krakower in the middle of the field
- Krakower dribbled to the right and slotted it past the keeper to the left from just outside the box
- Third goal of the season for the senior
- 11 minutes later CN would get the equalizer off the boot of
Sydney Spadafora
- Cox netted the winner with just over five minutes left in regulation
- Krakower poked the ball past her defender and found Cox
- Cox would rocket the ball towards the back post and the keeper was unable to knock it away
UP NEXT
- Wingate has its Senior Day celebration against Catawba Wednesday at 5 p.m.
- A victory would guarantee at least a share of the regular season SAC title
