Wingate, N.C..----Five different players scored Wednesday night, with
Elliot Cutts and
Paul Ngongo scoring two goals apiece to lead the 15th-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs to a dominant 7-0 victory over the visiting Catawba College Indians in South Atlantic Conference men's soccer action at Pride Park. The Bulldogs improve to 10-2-3 on the season and 6-2-1 in the SAC, while the Indians finish the season 6-9 overall and 2-8 in conference play.
THOUGHTS FROM COACH GARY HAMILL
"I thought we were very good tonight, it was nice to score some goals. We are disappointed from last weekend, we didn't get the result we wanted. We can only take care of what we can take care of. It was good to see a couple guy score some goals, nice to see Elliot get to double figures this season and of course get Paul on the scoresheet again. We have a lot to be proud of with eight starting freshmen."
THOUGHTS FROM ELLIOT CUTTS
"It was unreal, the team has so much confidence coming off a 2-2 draw at Carson-Newman. To then put seven past an opponent in conference, last game of the regular season, it was a great feeling. We knew once one and two went in the flood gates would open."
