Wingate, N.C.----The Embry-Riddle University Eagles scored six of the first nine goals Friday afternoon, then held off a Wingate rally en route to a 14-10 victory over the Bulldogs in NCAA Division II women's lacrosse action at Graham Gill Field. Embry-Riddle starts the season 1-0, while the 'Dogs fall to 0-1.

KEY BULLDOGS
- Kendall Wells had two goals, collecting one ground ball and causing one turnover
- Bella Pellet added two goals on the afternoon
- Casey Roux collected two goals, causing one turnover and registering three draw controls
- Morgan Akers had a goal, two assists and two ground balls, causing one turnover
- Nina Cifolilli added one goal and one assist
- Arion Pierre collected 15 saves

KEY EAGLES

- Mya Watson had three goals and two assists to lead the Eagles
- Tori Lammes had three goals, an assist and a ground ball
- McKenzie Jackson netted three goals, adding one assist and registered five draw controls
- Gillian Greenberg had two goals
- Skylar Mossop notched 13 saves

FIRST HALF

- Embry-Riddle got on the board first with two goals in the first two minutes
- Wingate would tie it at 2-2, with goals from Wells and Roux
-The Eagles took a 6-3 lead on a Elizabeth Ninesling goal late in the half
- Wells scored three seconds before halftime to make it 6-4 at intermission

SECOND HALF

- The Eagles stretched the lead to three, getting goals from Lammes and Amanda Dargie
- Wingate would rally to tie it at 8-8 with 17:39 remaining;
- Cifolilli, Becca Ruiz and Ellie Gottschalk scored in the Wingate flurry
- Embry-Riddle ended the game on a 6-2 run
- Watson scored a man-up goal for the Eagles with just under 12 minutes reaming
- In the final five minutes Lammes and Greenburg scored for Embry-Riddle
- Watson capped the scoring with a free-position goal with 1:05 to go
