Saturday morning results from the NCAA Division II swimming championships

Indianapolis, Ind.----The Wingate University men's and women's swimming teams will swim for (at least) three national titles in the 2019 NCAA Division II swimming and diving championships at the IU Natatorium on the campus of IUPUI Saturday night. Freshman Anna Miram and junior team captain Giacomo Viazzo and the women's 400 Freestyle Relay will compete for hardware. Also, Kate Agger had the third-best posting in the 1650 Freestyle timed finals (live NCAA video; live results).

Women's 100 Freestyle – Maria Madsen
Women's 100 Freestyle – Leticia Odorici
Women's 100 Freestyle – Hanna Van Horen
 
Senior team captain Maria Madsen had Wingate's best time at 51.01.

Event 35
Men's 100 Freestyle – Lukas Kraft
Men's 100 Freestyle – Lennart Queiss

Sophomore Lukas Kraft and senior Lennart Queiss posted almost identical times of 44.71 and 44.72, respectively.
 
Event 36
Women's 200 Backstroke – Anna Miram (qualified for Championship Final)
 
A true freshman, Anna Miram had the second-best time in preliminaries with her posting of 1:57.33. Only Queens University of Charlotte freshman Bobbi Gichard (1:56.14) swam faster Saturday morning.
 
Event 37
Men's 200 Backstroke – Niklas Martin (qualified for B Final)
 
Senior team captain Niklas Martin had the 12th-best time in the morning session with his time of 1:45.83. He will swim in the B final.
 
Event 38
Women's 200 Breaststroke – Maike Hoener (qualified for B Final)
Women's 200 Breaststroke – Anne-Sofie Nissen (qualified for B Final)
Women's 200 Breaststroke – Sara Aringsmann
 
Hoener (2:16.57) and Nissen (2:16.66) will swim in the 200 Breaststroke B final Saturday night.
 
Event 39
Men's 200 Breaststroke – Giacomo Viazzo (qualified for Championship Final)
 
Junior team captain Giacomo Viazzo will swim in his second championship final in as many nights, as he posted a time of 1:58.64 in the Saturday morning preliminaries.
 
Event 41
Women's 400 Freestyle Relay – Wingate (qualified for Championship Final)
 
Madsen, Aringsmann, Odorici and junior Abby Kosic had the fourth-best time in the morning session with their 3:24.34 clocking. They will swim for a national title Saturday night.
 
Event 42
Men's 400 Freestyle Relay – Wingate (qualified for B Final)
 
Quiess, Martin and Kraft were joined by junior Markus Furst for the final relay of the season. The quartet qualified for the B final with a time of 2:58.94.
 
Event 32
Women's 1650 Freestyle – Kate Agger
Women's 1650 Freestyle – Louise Hallden
 
Agger had the third-best time of the morning program with her clocking of 16:56.50. Fellow freshman Hallden had the fifth-best prelims time with her posting of 17:00.65. The 1650 Freestyle is a timed final.
 
Event 33
Men's 1650 Freestyle – Max Sundberg
 
Sundberg recorded a time of 16:04.48 in the morning preliminaries.
