Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Snow and Jeter lead Wingate to 53-47 victory over Tusculum in SAC quarterfinals

Wingate, N.C.----Wingate University freshman guard Jo Snow scored all 16 of her points in the second half Wednesday night, while Teliyah Jeter once again flirted with a triple-double, leading the second-seeded Bulldogs to a 53-47 victory over seventh-seeded Tusculum University in the quarterfinals of the South Atlantic Conference women's basketball tournament. Wingate erased an eight-point fourth quarter deficit, ending the game on a 20-6 run to improve to 21-7 overall and advances to Saturday's SAC Tournament semifinals. The Pioneers fall to 16-9 overall.

THOUGHTS FROM COACH HANCOCK

"I'm very excited for this group. They have worked so incredibly hard and have beaten a really tough team for the third time, which is hard to do. But the exciting part is to see all their hard work pay off with a trip to Greenville for the conference tournament. It's such a different feel, it's a neutral site, there is more fan fair and some people go their whole careers and never make it. It's exciting to see our seniors make the trip for the fourth time and give the freshman a taste of what we expect to do every year. Jo Snow hit some really big shots when we were struggling to score the ball and I'm happy to see her hard work pay off. It was a total team effort, but Teliyah Jeter's blocks are pretty dramatic, fun and exciting. It was an exciting night, a big win and I'm happy for the team."
