Bulldogs fall to #3 Florida Southern Friday

Wingate, N.C.----The 2016 national champion Florida Southern College Mocs outshot the Bulldogs 44-13 on the afternoon en route to a 20-7 victory over Wingate University in NCAA Division II women's lacrosse action at Graham Gill Field. Florida Southern improves to 4-1, while the 'Dogs fall to 2-3 on the season.

This was the first meeting between Wingate and Florida Southern

FIRST HALF

- Florida Southern got on the board first
- Wells found the back of the net off a Roux assist to make it 1-1
- The Mocs would go on 6-1 run, with Glinecki finding the back of the net twice in the flurry
- Roux and Akers each netted goals to cut the lead to three
- FSC scored three quick goals, with Smith registering a pair and Couch finding the back of the net at the 12:09 mark
- The Bulldogs made it a five-goal game when Ruiz scored with 10;29 remaining
- Florida Southern ended the half on a 4-1 run
- Maliah Benedetto found the back for the Mocs during the run

SECOND HALF

The Mocs started the second half with three consecutive goals
- Glinecki netted the man-up goal for FSC with 22:50 to go
- The Bulldogs got their lone goal of the second half when Nina Cifolilli found Street at the 16:13 mark to make it 17-7
- Florida Southern finished the game on a 3-0 run
