Wingate falls at #10 Queens in regular season finale

Charlotte, N.C.----The 10th-ranked Queens University Royals scored the first eight goals of the second half Saturday afternoon, pulling away for a 18-6 victory over Wingate University in South Atlantic Conference women's lacrosse action. The Royals improve to 15-2 overall and 8-0 in league play, while Wingate falls to 8-8 on the season, and 5-3 in the SAC.

- The Bulldogs had 19 turnovers; the Royals turned it over 11 times

FIRST HALF

- Wingate raced out to a 3-0 lead, within the first four minutes of play
- Gottschalk, Ruiz and Ketron each found the back of the net in the opening five minutes
- Queens would answer with a 4-0 run spanning just over two minutes of play
- Kamer found the back of the net for the Bulldogs to make it a 5-4 Wingate lead with 19:18 remaining
- The Royals would net the next 12 goals, getting four in the first frame
- Kyleigh Masteran scored with 3:11 left in the half to give Queens an 8-5 halftime edge

SECOND HALF

- Queens scored the first eight of the second half
- Kara Blanchard would net a pair of goals in the flurry for the Royals
- The QU run was capped by an Allison Conn goal with 14:38 remaining
- Akers netted the only goal of the second half for Wingate at the nine-minute mark
- The Royals would net the final two goals of the game, making it 18-6
