Wingate, N.C.----The fourth-seeded and 12th-ranked University of North Georgia Nighthawks knocked off the top-seeded and 10th-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs 4-3 in the semifinals of the 2019 NCAA Southeast Regional Women's Tennis Tournament Tuesday afternoon. North Georgia improves to 21-5 overall, advancing to the NCAA Round of 16 in Florida next week. The Bulldogs end their season at 21-2 overall.
DOUBLES
- The nation's 35th-ranked doubles team of
Claudia De Andreis and
Chyli Lee prevailed 6-1 at two doubles for Wingate
- North Georgia picked up a tight 7-5 victory over
Michela Verpelli and
Alisa Rudenko at one doubles
