Harrogate, Tenn.----The Lincoln Memorial University Railsplitters finished up the season sweep over Wingate University Saturday afternoon, prevailing 66-58 in South Atlantic Conference women's basketball action inside Tex Turner Arena. The Railsplitters improve to 8-12 overall and 7-9 in league action, while the Bulldogs fall to 13-10 overall and 7-9 in the SAC.
KEY STATS
- Wingate shot 40 percent from the field on the afternoon, LMU shot 36 percent
- The Bulldogs shot 47 percent (eight-for-17) from three-point range, the Railsplitters shot 42.3 percent from beyond the arc (11-for-26)
- Lincoln Memorial pulled down 38 rebounds, while WU collected 28
- The Bulldogs held a 24-14 advantage in points in the paint
- Each team collected 11 second-chance points
- The Railsplitters turned the ball over 19 times, the 'Dogs had 17 turnovers

- By the 7:40 mark the Railsplitters had stretched their lead to 24-18

- The Railsplitters got a Lauren Flowers three at the midpoint to make it 27-22
- Jeter hit a jumper and Douglas hit a three to get Wingate within two
- Flowers hit another three with 2:19 to go to give LMU the five-point edge
- After trading buckets the Railsplitters went into half with the 34-29 lead
THIRD QUARTER
- A pair of threes gave LMU the 40-30 edge at the 7:39 mark
- The Railsplitters got three from the free throw line to extend the lead to 13
- WU got its first bucket from the field at the 3:47 mark when

- In the final minute of the frame Wilson hit a jumper to get the 'Dogs within 10
FOURTH QUARTER
- Wingate started the final frame with a 7-0 run
- Jeter netted a pair in the flurry, it was capped by a Douglas three with 6:45 to go
- Flowers scored five quick points for LMU making it 50-42 with 5:38 remaining
- Troutman scored five to answer over the next minute of action for WU
- With four minutes remaining a Railsplitter three made it 53-47
- The Bulldogs got a Troutman three, cutting the lead to three
- Lincoln Memorial got a layup from Kirkpatrick with two minutes to go making it 57-50
- Clark made a pair from the charity stripe and a layup cutting it to a three-point game with 1:34 left on the clock
- The Railsplitters got a pair from the free throw line and a Kirkpatrick layup to make it 61-54
- Ingram layup with 42 seconds remaining got the 'Dogs within five
- Clark hit a bucket with 30 second left on the clock to make it 62-58, WU would get no closer
