Daytona Beach, Fla.----Despite a career day from
Annie Plotts, the 25th-ranked Saint Anselm College Hawks defeated the Wingate University Bulldogs 17-12 in NCAA Division II women's lacrosse action at ERAU Lacrosse Field Thursday afternoon. The Hawks move to 3-0 overall, while the Bulldogs fall to 1-5 on the season.

FIRST HALF
- The Bulldogs got on the board first with a Plotts goal at the 28:15 mark
- Saint Anselm got a goal in the next minute of play to tie it at 1-1
- Jenna Balboni scored with 22:09 to go for the Hawks
- Wingate answered with a Wells goal a minute later
- Kamer found the back of the net with 17:47 to give the 'Dogs a 3-2 lead
- The Hawks got a Breda Holland goal with 16:09 to go
- Gallagher gave WU the 4-3 lead with a goal at the 14:45 mark
- Holland netted her second of the game for Saint Anselm to tie the game
- With 13:41 to go Hiles found
Casey Roux to put the Bulldogs back on top
- Over the next seven minutes of action the Hawks would find the back of the net four times

Becca Ruiz scored to pull the Bulldogs within two, making it 8-6 with 3:24 on the clock
- Less than a minute later Wells would pull WU within one
- At the 1:26 mark a Taylor Cobain goal gave SAC the 9-7 lead at half
SECOND HALF
- Wingate got on the board first with a Hiles goal with 27:47 on the clock
- Saint Anselm answered with 4-0 run, starting with a Czarnota player-up goal with 26:37 to go
-At the 21:30 mark Cobain found the back of the net to cap the rally for the Hawks, making it 13-8
- With 19 minutes remaining Pellet scored for the Bulldogs
- Less than a minute late a Balboni goal made it 14-9
- With 11:57 on the clock Biase collected a ground ball and found a cutting Kamer, who found the back of the net
- Balboni netted the next two goals for Saint Anselm at the 9:23 and 3:50 marks
- At the 3:43 mark
Leah Knowles won the draw and found the crashing Plotts, who scored to pull Wingate within five
- Wingate would find the back of the net with 1:03 remaining with another Plotts goal
- In the final seconds of the game Quinn O'Rourke gave the Hawks a final margin of 17-12
