Bulldogs cruise past Cobras in three

Wingate, N.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs hit .314 Tuesday night while holding Coker to an .024 hitting percentage, cruising to a 3-0 victory in South Atlantic Conference volleyball action in Cuddy Arena. Wingate won by scores of 25-19, 25-9 and 25-22 to improve to 14-3 overall and 10-3 in the SAC. The Cobras fall to 3-17 overall and 1-12 in league play.

KEY STATS

- Wingate had 39 kills and just 12 errors in 86 swings to hit .314 on the night
- Coker had 24 kills and 22 errors in 85 swings, hitting .024
- The Bulldogs had 11 blocks compared to Coker's four
- Wingate held a 32-28 advantage in digs

FIRST SET

- Two Lambillotte kills and a Schaff block gave WU a 12-8 lead
- Kills from Kasprak and Blackley made it 15-9
- A Taylor Parker block pulled the Cobras within three at 19-16
- Kills from Schaff, Stacherski and Lambillotte put WU on top 22-17
- A Schaff kill made it 24-19; Blackley and Maggie Young teamed for a block to finish it

SECOND SET

- Three straight Lambillotte kills gave the 'Dogs an 8-2 lead
- A 6-0 run, highlighted by a Pryce ace and Young block put WU on top 15-4
- Back-to-back kills from Emma Ahrens made it 18-7
- Back-to-back Sutphin kills, followed by a Givens block made it 24-9
- Givens ended the frame with a kill

THIRD SET

- A Stacherski kill and a Givens block gave Wingate a 9-7 lead
- A Chelsey Blume block tied it at 11
- Two Sutphin kills and a Givens block put WU on top 16-13
- A Lauren Loveday kill pulled Coker back within one at 19-18
- A Stacherski kill and Kasprak ace made it 22-18
- A Parker block trimmed the lead back to one at 23-22
- A Lambillotte kill made it 24-22; Sutphin ended the match with a kill
