Wingate, N.C.----The Queens University of Charlotte men's swimming team claimed a 178.5-66.5 victory over host Wingate University at the WU Natatorium Friday night. The Royals are the No. 2 team in the CSCAA NCAA Division II top 25 poll, while the Bulldogs occupy the No. 4 position.

- Freshman
Miguel Marcos won the 1000 Freestyle with a new pool record time of 9:20.98
- Marcos took second-place in the 500 Freestyle with his time of 4:37.16
- Queens senior Alex Kunert won the 500 Freestyle by 0.08 seconds over his WU rival
- Marcos earned two silver medals, as he finished second in the 200 Individual Medley (1:54.23) as well
- Both Kunert and classmate Skyler Cook-Weeks won three individual events each
- The pair combined with two teammates to touch first in the 400 Freestyle Relay (3:03.55) as well

The Wingate men's swimming team will start fall semester final examinations on Monday. The Bulldogs return to action Friday, Jan. 7, when they host NCAA Division I Gardner-Webb.

Founded in 1896, Wingate University is a laboratory of difference-making that serves more than 3,400 students in North Carolina.
