Harrogate, Tenn.----The 16th-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs opened the 2021 season in style, cruising to a 7-0 victory at Lincoln Memorial University in South Atlantic Conference men's tennis action. Wingate improves to 1-0 overall and 1-0 in the SAC, while LMU falls to 1-3 on the season.

DOUBLES 

- Enrico Giacomini teamed with Josep Canyadell teamed for a 6-3 win at one doubles
- Edis Nokic and Matteo Gostoli prevailed 6-1 at number three doubles
- Wingate took a 1-0 lead into singles play

SINGLES

- Giacomini won 7-5, 6-2 at number one singles
- Canyadell rallied for a 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 victory at two singles
- George Barfoot picked up a 6-3, 6-2 win at number three singles
- Roy Stepanov prevailed 6-3, 6-0 at four singles
- Nokic notched a 6-3, 6-3 win at number five singles
- Gostoli capped things with a 6-0, 6-3 victory at six singles
