Wingate, N.C.----The 13th-ranked Carson-Newman University Eagles scored the first 10 points Wednesday evening en route to an 81-60 victory at Wingate University in South Atlantic Conference women's basketball action in Cuddy Arena. The Eagles improve to 9-1 overall and 9-1 in the SAC, while the Bulldogs fall to 5-8 overall and 5-7 in league play.

- Coleman's free throw made it 19-9, but a Sydney Pearce jumper gave C-N a 21-9 lead

- A Harli Smith layup put the Eagles on top by 16 midway through the quarter
- Back-to-back buckets from Troutman cut the lead to 12
- Braelyn Wykle's bucket gave C-N a 36-19 advantage at the 2:28 mark
- Coleman answered with a bucket to trim the deficit to 15
- Threes from Wykle and Taylor Goforth gave the Eagles a 44-24 halftime lead
THIRD QUARTER
- A Troutman three-point play pulled Wingate within 15 at the 5:13 mark
- Wykle's three made it 56-38 with 2:55 to go
- Another Wykle triple made it 60-41 with a minute remaining
- Coleman cut the lead to 17, but two Wykle free throws made it 62-43 heading to the fourth
FOURTH QUARTER
- A Skylar Boshears jumper gave the Eagles a 23-point lead a minute into the final frame
- A Davis three-point play and Wilson jumper pulled Wingate within 17
- Addison Byrd's three pushed the lead back to 20 with 4:49 to go
- Smith's triple gave Carson-Newman a 79-56 lead with 3:11 remaining
- Wingate got no closer than 21 the rest of the way
