#6 Bulldogs ride balanced attack in 20-8 victory over Trojans

Wingate, N.C.----The sixth-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs got multiple goals from five different players Saturday afternoon, using a 9-0 third period to take down visiting Anderson University 20-8 in South Atlantic Conference men's lacrosse action at Graham Gill Field. Wingate improves to 5-1 overall and 3-1 in the SAC, while the Trojans fall to 4-2 overall and 2-1 in league play.

FIRST PERIOD

SECOND PERIOD
 
- Ronan Stenstrom scored within the first two minutes of the second period, extending the lead 8-2
- Garrett Hawkins and Logan Gaddis scored two straight goals to pull AU within four with 9:38 to go
- A Vodovnik goal off a Daman Lingasin assist gave Wingate a 9-4 halftime lead  
 
THIRD PERIOD
 
- Wingate was the only team to score in the third period, outscoring AU 9-0
- Pierpont was the first to score less than two minutes in
- A pair of Grieco goals were followed by a goal from Riley and two more from Padden, making it 15-4
- Riley, Vodovnik and Padden scored the final three goals in the third period to give WU a 14-goal lead
 
FOURTH PERIOD
 
- Rex Hardy scored in the first minute to cut the lead to 13 at 18-5
- Two more Trojan goals from Isaiah Hines trimmed the deficit to 11
- Vodovnik scored with under 10 minutes left, extending the lead 19-7
- Mark Cottage Jr. scored the final Wingate goal of the day with 2:37 remaining
