Wingate, N.C.----Wingate University junior
Soren Nygaard piled up four goals and an assist Monday night, leading the fourth-seeded Bulldogs to a convincing 7-1 victory over fifth-seeded Limestone in the opening round of the 2021 spring men's soccer South Atlantic Conference tournament. Wingate improves to 5-1-1 overall, advancing to the SAC Tournament semifinals Thursday night. Limestone ends its season at 4-2-1.

FIRST HALF
- Alex Pais Caamano scored on a PK in the 30th minute to give Limestone a 1-0 lead
- Nygaard scored the equalizer eight minutes later
- A long lead pass from Scully found Nygaard one-on-one; he beat his defender and buried his first goal of the night
SECOND HALF
- Nygaard struck again 12 minutes after halftime to put the 'Dogs on top
- Wittur found a streaking Nygaard up the left side and he beat the keeper into the opposite corner
- Nygaard struck again four minutes later, lining a cross from Fahlen Bruun home to make it 3-1
- Bennett found the back of the net less than two minutes later off a Nygaard pass to put WU on top by three
- Nygaard's third goal of the half and fourth of the night came in the 68th minute off a long feed from Marshall
- Bennett's second goal of the night came off a Fahlen Bruun assist in the 71st minute, making it 6-1
- Tshibanda scored in the 90th minute off a Wittur feed to give Wingate a six-goal win
