McCullough and Christopher lead Bulldogs to doubleheader split against Catawba

Wingate, N.C.----Wingate University right-hander Brody McCullough tossed six shutout innings Tuesday afternoon, while Gehrig Christopher added a homer and three RBI as the Bulldogs rolled to an 8-0 game one victory over visiting Catawba College. The Indians bounced back for a 5-2 game two victory. Wingate goes to 22-10 overall and 17-9 in the SAC, while Catawba moves to 20-7 overall and 16-6 in league play.

- He scored on an RBI single from McKay to make it 8-0

WRAPUP

- That was plenty for McCullough, who moved to 5-1 on the year with the win
- He tossed six shutout innings, allowing just two hits while striking out nine and walking two
- McCullough is 2-0 in his two starts this year, allowing just three hits in 11 innings of work
- He lowered his season ERA to 1.47 in 36 2/3 innings of work
- Greg Brown took the loss, falling to 2-1
- He allowed three runs on a hit in 1 1/3 innings, striking out one and walking two
