Nominees announced for 2021 WUSPYS

Wingate, N.C.----Wingate University's annual WUSPYS awards once again have a different look in 2021. For the second straight year, the event could not take place in person. However, unlike 2020, a full year of athletics means that the 2021 WUSPYS awards will be back to the full 15 categories. Because the event could not take place in person, the decision was made to wait until all teams had finished their season. With the baseball team winning the national title, Wingate was the last NCAA Division II team in action in the 2021 season, going through mid-June.

Below are all of the nominees for each category along with their accomplishments. You can also see the video for the Play of the Year nominees. The ballots have been sent out to 100 voters, comprised of Wingate coaches, along with the athletic administrative staff. In addition, members of Wingate's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will take part in the voting. Voting will take place throughout the week and winners will be announced next Tuesday, June 29. For more information, follow the WUSPYS on twitter or go to www.wingatebulldogs.com/wuspys.
