Wingate, N.C.----Saturday night's South Atlantic Conference football game between Catawba College and #13 Wingate University has been cancelled. The contest, originally scheduled for a 6 p.m. kickoff, has been cancelled due to COVID issues within the Catawba program. With no open dates scheduled throughout the rest of the season, a makeup game is unlikely.
Wingate will be back in action next Saturday, hosting Tusculum at 6 p.m. on Homecoming weekend. That will be followed by a three-game road trip that sees the 'Dogs travel to Limestone, Barton and UVA Wise. The Bulldogs return home from that trip Oct. 30 to host Lenoir-Rhyne at 6 p.m.
