Every Bulldog scores as Wingate trounces Lenoir-Rhyne 83-42

Wingate, N.C-—-Wingate University scored 22 or more points in each of the first three quarters on Wednesday night, cruising to an 83-42 victory over Lenoir-Rhyne University in South Atlantic Conference women's basketball action in Cuddy Arena. Wingate wins its 15th straight, improving to 15-1 overall and a perfect 13-0 in conference play. The Bears fall to 4-9 overall and 3-8 in the SAC.

- Wingate shot 45 percent from the field, while Lenoir-Rhyne made 29 percent
- The Bulldogs were nine-for-20 from three-point range (45 percent), while the Bears converted three of their 15 attempts from deep (20 percent)

FIRST QUARTER

SECOND QUARTER
 
- After LR scored the first basket of the second quarter, WU embarked on a 10-3 run
- Troutman's layup gave the 'Dogs a 33-15 lead with 7:57 left in the half
- Later in the half, Wingate went on a 10-0 run
- The Bulldogs' 46-19 lead tied their largest in the opening two quarters
- Brandi Hudson and Dyson traded baskets to bring the halftime score to 48-21
 
THIRD QUARTER
 
- The Bears once again scored the opening basket of the second half, to which Wingate answered with an 8-0 run
- Peyton Davis' pair of free throws gave WU a 56-23 advantage, their largest lead to that point
- The Bulldogs scored the final five points of the quarter, taking a 70-31 lead into the final 10 minutes
 
FOURTH QUARTER
 
- The 'Dogs scored the first four points of the fourth quarter, extending their run to 9-0 from the end of the third quarter
- Brandon's layup with 7:18 remaining gave Wingate a 43-point lead, their largest of the game
