#21 Wingate notches 18th sweep of the year against LMU

Wingate, N.C.----The #21 Wingate University Bulldogs won their 21st straight match Saturday afternoon, cruising to a 3-0 victory over Lincoln Memorial University in South Atlantic Conference volleyball action in Cuddy Arena. Wingate won by scores of 25-16, 25-14 and 25-13 to improve to 23-1 overall and 14-0 in the SAC, while the Railsplitters fall to 6-15 overall and 4-9 in league play. Wingate now has 18 sweeps on the season.

- Wingate piled up 47 kills against just seven errors in 88 attacks to hit .455
- LMU had 20 kills and 16 errors in 88 swings, hitting .045

- A Maggie Sanderson kill gave LMU an 11-9 lead

- Kills from Wilform and Maya Walker made it 24-16; Johnon's ace ended it

SECOND SET

- Wingate jumped out to an 8-1 lead in the second frame
- Young had two kills and two aces in the spurt; Johnson added a kill and two blocks
- Ahrens and Stacherski had two kills each in a 4-0 run that made it 16-5
- Kills from Saye and Rayah Givens put Wingate on top 22-9
- Kills from Saye and Johnson made it 24-11; A Johnson kill ended it

THIRD SET

- Kills from Wilform and Stacherski gave the Bulldogs a 9-5 lead in the third set
- Another Wilform kill made it 13-8
- A 5-0 run put Wingate on top 19-10, with Johnson contributing a kill and a block to the spurt
- Kills from Ahrens, Givens and Clare Sheedy made it 24-13; Wilform's kill ended it
