Wingate, N.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs held their opponent under 100 yards of total offense for the second time this season, defeating Barton College 28-3 on Homecoming in South Atlantic Conference football action at Irwin Belk Stadium. Wingate improves to 7-1 overall and 5-1 in the SAC, while Barton drops to 2-6 overall and 1-5 in league play.

FIRST QUARTER
- The 'Dogs forced a quick three-and-out on Barton's first possession
- On the third play of the drive, Crocker found Jones for a 54-yard touchdown to give Wingate a lead it would not lose
- BC would go three plays and punt on their ensuing drive
- A Clark 40-yard rush to start the next drive jump started the eight-play, 74-yard scoring drive
- It was capped by a nine-yard touchdown catch from Desor
- Wingate forced its third straight three-and-out with five minutes left in the quarter
- Crocker's pass on the first play of the drive was picked off by BC
- The Wingate defense stood tall, forcing BC to a field goal try, as WU took a 14-3 lead after 15 minutes
SECOND QUARTER
- Wingate forced yet another three-and-out to start the second quarter
- The 'Dogs struck again for a 31-yard touchdown from Crocker to Simmons on fourth and four
- After a Barton punt, WU went for a 12-play, 68-yard touchdown drive
- Crocker's 8-yard TD pass to Clark put the 'Dogs up 28-3 with 1:26 to go in the half
- BC punted before Wingate's final drive was stalled by an interception on a heave at the end of the half
- Neither team added to their total in the second half
