Wingate, N.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs celebrated their first-ever Senior Day on Saturday afternoon prior to falling 2-0 to Lander University in South Atlantic Conference field hockey action at Graham Gill Field. The Bearcats improve to 6-6 overall and 4-6 in the SAC, while the Bulldogs drop to 1-14 overall and 1-9 in league play.

- The Bulldogs and Bearcats played to a scoreless opening 15 minutes

- Sophie Schmitz got the scoring started for Lander with just over five minutes to go in the first half
- Frederique van der Houwen got the assist for the Bearcats
THIRD QUARTER
- Schmitz added to Lander's lead just before the end of the third quarter
