Newberry, S.C.----The 20th-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs clinched the South Atlantic Conference Piedmont Division title Saturday afternoon, rolling to a 3-0 victory at Newberry College in SAC volleyball action. Wingate won by scores of 25-22, 25-19 and 25-11 to improve to 25-2 overall and 16-1 in the SAC. The Wolves fall to 13-13 overall and 7-9 in league play.

- WU used a 4-0 run, getting two kills and a block from Young to go on top 20-17
- A Herlehy kill capped a 3-0 Newberry run that tied it at 20
- A Saye kill, followed by back-to-back Kasprak kills gave the Bulldogs a 24-21 lead

- A Kasprak kill, Johnson block and two Stacherski kills sparked a 5-0 run that gave WU a 10-4 lead
- A kill and a block from Lambillotte put the 'Dogs on top 14-7
- A Clare Sheedy ace and Kasprak kill gave Wingate a 19-12 advantage
- Two Lambillotte kills made it 23-16
- Another Lambillotte kill made it 24-17; a Young kill ended it

THIRD SET

- A Liz Ober kill gave Newberry a 7-6 lead
- Wingate scored the next 11 to take control of the set, with Lambillotte handling the serving
- Saye had three kills in the flurry, while Lambillotte added three aces to make it 17-7
- Three Wilform kills and a Johnson kill put the Bulldogs on top 23-9
- A Rayah Givens kill made it 24-10; another Givens kill ended the match
