Bulldogs punch ticket to SAC semifinals with 3-1 win at Carson-Newman

Box Score Jefferson City, Tenn.----The sixth-seeded Wingate University Bulldogs knocked off three-seed Carson-Newman University on the road Saturday afternoon 3-1 in South Atlantic Conference women's soccer quarterfinal action. The Bulldogs improve to 10-3-4 overall and advance to next Friday's semifinal round. The Eagles drop to 9-4-4 overall and await their postseason fate.

- Ditillo scored the eventual winner in the 58th minute off a Cowley assist
- Peters doubled the lead with a goal in the 64th minute on the assist from Husted
- Thisgaard made three saves in an eight-minute span late in the second half
- The 'Dogs held the Eagles without a shot on goal over the final seven minutes

- The Bulldogs advance to the SAC Semifinals at American Legion Memorial Stadium in Charlotte next Friday
