Lauren Montgomery scored the first two goals of her collegiate career Monday afternoon, but Wingate's rally came up just short in a 4-3 setback at Mercyhurst University in NCAA Division II field hockey action. The Lakers improve to 2-6 overall, while the Bulldogs fall to 0-9 on the season.

- Montgomery got the 'Dogs on the board a minute into the second half to make it a one-goal game
- Maddie Huffer answered back for the Lakers with 10 minutes left in the quarter
FOURTH QUARTER
- Aiello scored off Barker's assist with nine minutes remaining to make it a one-goal game again
- Madison Kasten put the Lakers back on top by two with 3:31 remaining
- Montgomery's second goal of the game came with 2:18 to go, making it 4-3
