Bulldogs fall in opening round of NCAA Tournament

Salisbury, N.C. —- The seventh-seed Wingate University women's soccer team fell on the road to 20th-ranked and second-seed Catawba College, 2-0, in NCAA Division II women's soccer tournament first round action Thursday night. The Indians improve to 16-3-2 overall and advance to Saturday's regional semifinal, while the Bulldogs end their season at 11-5-4 overall.

- Hendrix's shot to tie it in the 47th minute was saved by the Catawba keeper
- Thisgaard again made a trio of saves, this time all in the span of 31 seconds
- The Indians broke through again in the 56th minute on a Sydney Jimmo score
