Peters and Larsen earn D2CCA All-Region accolades

D2CCA All-Southeast Region Teams

Newberry, S.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs had two players earn All-Southeast Region honors from the D2CCA. Midfielder Caroline Peters earns first team All-Region accolades, with defender Sascha Larsen picking up second team accolades.

Peters earns All-Region honors for the first time in her career. The graduate student earned first team All-SAC honors in 2022. Peters piled up four goals and nine assists on the season, leading the Bulldogs in assists and points while ranking second in goals. She also ranked second in the SAC in assists. Peters had an assist in each of Wingate's first four games on the season, while notching a goal and an assist in the Emory & Henry win. She netted a goal at Lenoir-Rhyne, while notching a goal and two assists in the victory at Coker. Peters scored a goal in the SAC Tourney win at Carson-Newman, while handing out an assist in the SAC Tournament victory against Catawba.

Larsen was a key part of the Wingate defense that posted a 0.75 goals-against average, piling up nine shutouts on the season. The sophomore also led the Bulldogs with seven goals on the year, including four game-winners. She scored in the season-opening win at Young Harris, adding goals in wins over Emory & Henry and Mars Hill. Larsen also found the back of the net in victories over Shaw and Coker. She netted the game-winner in the SAC Tourney semifinal victory over Catawba, sending the 'Dogs to the title match.
