Quotables

Wingate head coach Pol Domenech:

"It has been a tough month for our women's team, as we've faced lots of health setbacks. The team stayed strong and positive throughout this period, and the result today shows how resilient these women are. After not winning this trophy last year, winning at home means everything."

"We're going to enjoy this win today, but we are going back to work tomorrow. The day we have been preparing for since August is in two weeks in Seattle. I'd like to make a special mention to all the Wingate staff, volunteers and fans who came to the course today. It was a magnificent event and the support from the crowd was undeniable."

Wingate senior student-athlete Brooklyn Pierce:

"Today's race was exciting! The weather was perfect and both of our teams were pumped to run on our home course with everyone coming out to support us. We all ran as a team and it was such a great environment. Both teams are ready for Seattle!"

Wingate senior student-athlete Mollie Scott:

"Today was a good day for the team. I am happy we could all do well together and both genders came away with the win. It was our aim and we achieved this. Now we are looking forward to nationals in Seattle!"
