Wingate, N.C.----Schedule changes have been announced for Monday's women's basketball game and the softball doubleheader. The women's basketball contest against Catawba, originally scheduled to take place at Wingate, has been moved to Catawba. The two top-20 teams will tip-off at 5:30 p.m. in Salisbury. Monday's softball doubleheader against Southern Wesleyan has been postponed due to inclement weather.
With the women's basketball change, the contest on Feb. 23, which was originally scheduled to take place at Catawba, will be at Wingate. That game will also start at 5:30 p.m. in Cuddy Arena. #16 Wingate enters Monday's game at 19-2 overall and 17-1 in the SAC, just ahead of #17 Catawba, who is 17-2 overall and 14-2 in league play. The top two teams in the SAC will meet twice in a 16-day period.
For the Bulldog softball team, a makeup date has not yet been announced, with a date expected to be announced sometime this week. The 4-0 'Dogs will now return to action this weekend, with five games in Florida. Wingate plays Florida Tech Friday at noon and Saturday at 9:30 a.m. The Bulldogs then play Barry Saturday at noon, while facing Rollins and Lynn Sunday at 9:30 a.m. and noon. All five games will take place in Cocoa Beach, Fla.
