Hartsville, S.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs scored 10 of the 11 goals in the first quarter, cruising to a 21-7 victory over Coker University in South Atlantic Conference women's lacrosse action Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs improve to 6-1 overall and 2-0 in SAC play, while the Cobras drop to 1-6 and 0-2 in league play.

FIRST PERIOD

- Scarfogliero caused a turnover, picked up the ground ball and scored to give WU a 5-0 lead at the 7:33 mark
- Knowles found the back of the net via free-position shot, as Wingate took a 6-0 lead
- The Cobras scored 90 seconds later to get on the board
- Pellet scored three times in 1:07 of game time to extend the Bulldog lead to 9-1
- Ruiz added a goal in the closing seconds to cap the 'Dogs' big quarter
- Wingate has outscored its opponents 44-15 in the first 15 minutes this season
SECOND PERIOD
- Neither side tallied a goal for the first six minutes of the second period
- Annabelle Chuilli broke the drought with a score for Coker
- Wingate responded with two goals from Gonzalez and Ruiz in less than a minute
- The Bulldogs answered a Cobras score with a goal from Hiles in the waning seconds of the half, taking a 13-3 advantage into the break
THIRD PERIOD
- The Cobras struck first in the second half, but the Bulldogs responded with four goals from Ruiz, Pellet, Gonzalez and Hiles to take a 17-4 lead
- Coker's Meagan Gallagher scored her second goal of the period with 22 seconds left
FOURTH PERIOD
- Coker once again scored to open the fourth period, but the Bulldogs answered with four more goals in response
- Two goals came from Knowles, while Scherer and Pellet added to the lead with less than seven minutes to go
- Gallagher added her fourth goal of the game at the 1:!9 mark
