Wingate, N.C.----The third-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs outscored #15 Queens University 10-2 in the second half Wednesday night, pulling away to an 18-11 victory in South Atlantic Conference men's lacrosse action at Graham Gill Field. The Bulldogs improve to 6-1 on the season and 3-0 in the SAC, while the Royals drop to 4-2 overall and 1-1 in league play. Wingate now has four wins over top-20 opponents this season.

SECOND PERIOD

- Riley and Padden found the back of the net within 30 seconds of each other to retake the lead
- The Royals tied the game at 6 at the 9:09 mark
- Vodovnik tallied back-to-back goals in under a minute to give the 'Dogs an 8-6 lead
- Queens closed out the first half with three consecutive scores to take a 9-8 lead into the break
THIRD PERIOD
- Grieco found Riley for a score 18 seconds in
- Kealan Pilon scored for Queens to take a 10-9 lead
- Wingate scored three straight times to end the period
- Grieco and Riley scored unassisted goals, as Wingate retook the lead for the final time
- Padden's man-up goal gave the 'Dogs a two-score cushion
FOURTH PERIOD
- Two more Grieco scores were separated by a Fleming goal, as Wingate's streak of unanswered goals was extended to six, holding a 15-10 advantage with 7:30 to go
- Pilon's goal cut the Queens deficit to four, but it proved not enough
- Riley, Padden and Grieco scored for good measure, as the Bulldogs pulled away late to win by a final score of 18-11
