Kodak, Tenn.----Wingate University redshirt sophomore left-hander
Mitch Farris tossed a complete game three-hit shutout Sunday night, leading the top-seeded and top-ranked Bulldogs to a 6-0 victory over Catawba College on day four of the South Atlantic Conference baseball tournament. Wingate improves to 45-7 overall, advancing to championship Monday, while the Indians fall to 30-24 on the year.

- Motsinger walked to start the game, stole second, then went to third on a Dansky single
- He scored on a Clark groundout to make it 1-0
SECOND INNING
- Williams-Rhem ripped a one-out single, then moved to third on an error
- He scored on Motsinger's RBI groundout to put the 'Dogs on top by two
THIRD INNING
- Clark led off the third with a double off the wall in left center
- He scored on King's RBI single to make it 3-0
- A Williams-Rhem RBI groundout plated King to give Wingate a four-run cushion
SIXTH INNING
- Dansky connected on a solo shot to right to put the 'Dogs on top by five
NINTH INNING
- King was hit by a pitch, then moved to second on a walk
- He scored on an RBI groundout from Williams-Rhem to make it 6-0
WRAPUP
- Farris was in control all night
- He retired the first nine he faced, but back-to-back errors put two on in the fourth
- Farris picked a runner off, then got a groundout and strikeout to end the threat
- After a 1-2-3 fifth and strikeout and groundout in the sixth, a two-out single broke up the no-hitter
- Farris responded by getting an inning-ending groundout
- He worked around a two-out single with another strikeout in the seventh
- Farris worked a 1-2-3 eighth inning, then retired the leadoff man in the ninth
- After a one-out single, Farris got a popout and groundout to finish off his complete game
- It is the first complete game of the season for the Bulldogs
- Wingate's last complete game came in the 2021 D2 World Series from current assistant coach
