St. Augustine, Fla.----The seventh-ranked Nighthawks of the University of North Georgia won the doubles point Monday afternoon, then picked up victories in the first three singles contests to claim a 4-0 victory over #22 Wingate University in the opening round of the 2022 NCAA Division II men's tennis tournament. The Nighthawks improve to 15-6 overall, while the Bulldogs end their season at 13-9.
DOUBLES
- UNG picked up a 6-1 win at one doubles and 6-3 victory at two doubles

Petar Basic Palkovic led 5-4 at three doubles when the point was clinched
- North Georgia took a 1-0 lead into singles play
SINGLES
- A 6-1, 6-4 win at six singles put the Nighthawks on top 2-0
- UNG won 6-4, 6-4 at number one singles to make it a 3-0 match
- A 6-4, 6-3 victory at three singles clinched the match for North Georgia
