Carson-Newman hands Wingate first loss of the season

Box Score Jefferson City, Tenn.----The Wingate University Bulldogs suffered their first loss in league play Saturday, falling 3-1 at Carson-Newman University in South Atlantic Conference women's soccer action at Harvey Stadium. The Eagles improve to 3-2-2 overall and 2-1 in the SAC, while the Bulldogs drop to 5-1-1 overall and 1-1-1 in league play.

- Ditillo and Husted each fired a shot on goal in the opening 11 minutes of play
- Jud Selina's first goal of the season off an Abbie Zander assist put C-N up 1-0 in the 21st minute
- Sydnee Duncan added to the Eagles' lead with three minutes left in the half
 
SECOND HALF
 
- Duncan's second score of the afternoon gave Carson-Newman a 3-0 lead in the 68th minute
- Hendrix scored off a rebound from a penalty kick just over 30 seconds later
