Wingate, N.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs utilized a 44-10 run over a 15-minute stretch on Wednesday afternoon, defeating Newberry College 83-57 in Cuddy Arena in South Atlantic Conference women's basketball action. The Bulldogs improve to 10-3 overall and 3-1 in the SAC, while the Wolves drop to 5-9 overall and 1-3 in league play.

SECOND QUARTER

Hannah Clark out of the quarter break gave Wingate a five-point lead 90 seconds in
- Newberry responded with a quick 6-0 run to take the lead at 22-21 with just over six minutes left
- The Wolves' lead grew to as much as five with a 28-23 advantage at the 3:35 mark
- Sullivan drained back-to-back threes to cap a 9-0 run over the final 1:33 of the half that turned a three-point deficit into a six-point lead for the 'Dogs
THIRD QUARTER
- Wingate scored the opening bucket of the second half, but a Faith Putz three-pointer brought the Newberry deficit to five less than a minute into the second half
- Five Bulldogs scored in their ensuing 12-0 run to break the game open to a 52-35 lead at the 5:41 mark
- After a Wolves' jumper broke run, the 'Dogs scored the next nine points unanswered to extend their lead 26 points with two minutes to go
