Wingate moves to 5-2 in SAC play with 3-0 victory over Railsplitters

Wingate, N.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs scored three times in a 15-minute span Saturday afternoon, prevailing 3-0 over Lincoln Memorial University in South Atlantic Conference women's soccer action at Pride Park. The Bulldogs improve to 8-3-1 overall and 5-2 in the SAC, while the Railsplitters fall to 7-5-2 overall and 3-3-2 in league play.

- The Bulldogs held a 14-2 advantage in shots on goal
- The 'Dogs took four of the six corner kicks
- Wingate was called for nine of the 17 fouls and received the lone yellow card

KEY BULLDOGS

- Yasmin Cowley scored a pair of goals to lead the Wingate offense
- Brianna Ditillo also found the back of the net for the Bulldogs
- Caroline Peters and Nicole Cristy each notched an assist
- Katrine Thisgaard collected a pair of saves to notch the shutout

- Wingate out-shot LMU 8-4 in the opening 45 minutes
- The 'Dogs put five shots on goal, with three coming from Peters
- Thisgaard notched her first save in the 39th minute to keep LMU off the board

- The Bulldogs took 15 of the 18 shots in the second half
- Cowley got Wingate on the board in the 56th minute
- She scored off a Peters assist to make it 1-0
- Cowley struck again seven minutes later to put the 'Dogs on top by two
- Cristy had the assist on Cowley's fifth goal of the year
- Ditillo capped the scoring in the 70th minute
- Her second goal of the season gave the 'Dogs a 3-0 advantage
