Wise, Va.----The Wingate University Bulldogs used a 28-7 run in the second half Saturday afternoon to pick up a 75-73 victory at UVA Wise in South Atlantic Conference men's basketball action. Wingate improves to 4-1 overall and 1-0 in the SAC, while the Cavaliers fall to 3-3 overall and 0-1 in league play.

- Wingate scored the next nine, with a Barbour triple at the 4:52 mark making it 26-24
- Zy'Ever Wingfield's layup with 3:41 to go put UVA Wise back on top by six
- An Aaron Hall dunk and Nixon jumper tied it at 32 with 47 seconds to go
- A three from Lav Cvetkovic gave the Cavaliers a 35-32 halftime lead

SECOND HALF

- A Cvetkovic triple with 15:16 to go gave UVA Wise a 48-38 lead
- Back-to-back Roberts buckets pulled Wingate within four at the 12:57 mark
- Ligtford's three pushed the lead back to seven, but Wingate scored the next 12
- An Elmore three and Nixon layup tied it, while Elmore's triple made it 56-51
- Nixon buried a three at the 9:23 mark to extend the WU advantage to seven
- Another Nixon triple, along with a Barbour jumper gave the 'Dogs a 66-55 lead at the 6:14 mark
- Wingfield pulled the Cavs back within six with a bucket with five minutes to go

- A Fruster three at the buzzer was off the mark, giving the 'Dogs the victory
