Mount Olive, N.C.----The University of Mount Olive Trojans scored the first five goals of the day Saturday afternoon, but seventh-ranked Wingate University responded by outscoring the Trojans 11-2 in the second half to prevail 19-10 in NCAA Division II men's lacrosse action. Wingate improves to 2-1 overall, while Mount Olive falls to 1-2 on the season.

SECOND PERIOD
- Goals from Riley and Grieco tied it at seven with 5:39 to go in the half
- Lalonde put UMO back on top at the 2:53 mark
- Moran scored off a Grieco assist with 33 seconds left to make it 8-8 at halftime
THIRD PERIOD
- The 'Dogs scored the first six goals of the second half, scoring four in the opening four minutes
- Cottage, Samson, Riley and Moran all scored early goals to make it 12-8 at the 11:41 mark
- Cottage struck again at the 6:46 mark, while Castle's goal made it 14-8
- Chaz Goodman scored with 2:32 to go to cut the lead to five heading to the final frame
FOURTH PERIOD
- UMO struck first, but the Bulldogs scored the final five goals of the day
- Cottage and Moran scored within a minute of each other to make it 16-10 with 8:18 left
- Grieco and Castle added goals to push the lead to eight with just over two minutes remaining
- Moran capped the scoring off a Riley assist with 45 seconds to go
