Wingate, N.C.----In a rematch of last season's NCAA Tournament opener, the fourth-ranked Florida Southern College Mocs held off #13 Wingate University 14-12 in NCAA Division II women's lacrosse action Sunday afternoon at Irwin Belk Stadium. The Mocs move to 2-0 on the season, while the 'Dogs fall to 2-1 overall. The contest was quite different than the NCAA Tourney game nine months ago, which saw FSC prevail 19-6. The 'Dogs scored four of the first five goals Sunday and held the lead throughout a majority of the first half.

- Goals from Knowles and Higgins made it 4-1 with 2:34 left in the frame
- FSC scored three times in the final 2:07, with a Lizzy Linch goal tying it with a minute left
SECOND QUARTER
- Pellet's goal 1:40 into the second frame put the 'Dogs back on top 5-4
- Jackie Stoller tied it, but a Knowles goal off a Kamer assist put WU on top with 5:18 to go
- Stoller and Charlie Laye scored in a 30-second stretch to put FSC on top 7-6
- Scherer scored off a Knowles assist to tie it at seven
- Giana Murphy answered with a goal to give the lead back to the Mocs
- Pellet answered with a goal to tie it at eight
- Ruiz scored off a Knowles assist with 23 seconds left to give Wingate a 9-8 halftime lead
THIRD QUARTER
- Hailey Daleo tied it 1:15 into the third
- Pellet put the Bulldogs back on top at the 12:12 mark
- Murphy, Ellie Griffin and Lynch scored in a three-minute span to put FSC on top 12-10
- Garvin scored off a Fuchs assist to pull Wingate back within one with 3:59 remaining
- Daleo pushed the lead back to two heading to the fourth
FOURTH QUARTER
- Knowles scored with 7:20 remaining to pull Wingate within one at 13-12
- Murphy scored the final goal of the day with 1:46 remaining
