Sizzling Bulldogs shoot 71 percent from the field in 92-64 win over Bears

Wingate, N.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs were on fire all night, shooting 71 percent from the field and knocking down 11-of-15 threes to cruise to a 92-64 victory over Lenoir-Rhyne University in South Atlantic Conference women's basketball action in Cuddy Arena. Wingate wins its sixth straight, improving to 17-6 overall and 10-4 in the SAC. The Bears fall to 18-5 overall and 8-5 in league play.

- Bryanna Troutman contributed 16 points, seven rebounds, three assists and three blocks

FIRST QUARTER

- Threes from Sullivan and Hege gave the Bulldogs an early 7-4 lead
- Blaikley Crooks pulled the Bears back within two with a free throw
- WU answered with an 11-2 run, getting a Clark triple to go on top 18-7 with 2:50 left
- Emily Harman's triple cut the lead to eight, but a Hege three pushed the lead back to 11
- Hannah Stull's triple with 24 seconds left made it 23-15 heading to the second

SECOND QUARTER

- WU scored the first nine points of the second quarter, getting four points from Troutman to make it 32-15
- Jalen Gathers cut the lead to 13 with a layup at the 5:47 mark
- Wingate used a 9-2 run to take a 20-point lead, getting two Hege threes and a Clark triple
- A Sullivan layup and Kozo three-point play made it 51-27 with 2:12 to go
- Sullivan's  triple with 44 seconds remaining gave WU a 54-29 halftime advantage

THIRD QUARTER

- A Stull triple trimmed the deficit to 20
- WU countered with a 10-2 run, getting four more Hege points to take a 66-38 lead
- Brandi Hudson's layup cut it to 21 with 1:42 to go
- Buckets from Hege and Adair Garrison made it 74-49 heading to the final frame

FOURTH QUARTER

- Jaia Wilson's layup started the scoring in the fourth, stretching the lead to 27
- Clark's triple at the midway point made it 84-56
- The lead stayed above 21 the rest of the way
