Mitch Farris set a career-high and nearly broke the SAC record with 18 strikeouts in his start on Friday night, propelling the Wingate University Bulldogs to a 5-1 win over the Lincoln Memorial University Railsplitters in South Atlantic Conference baseball action at Ron Christopher Stadium. With the win, Wingate improves to 14-7 overall and 4-3 in the conference, while LMU falls to 12-5 and 1-3 in SAC play.

- King launched a solo homer over the scoreboard to lead off the inning
- Adams followed it up with a solo homer of his own two batters later to right center, putting Wingate up by the winning score of 5-1

- Farris took the win, moving to 6-0 on the year
- He went eight innings in the game, allowing one earned run, giving up three hits, walking two and striking out eighteen
- Farris struck out multiple batters in each of the first seven frames, striking out the final batter of the night in the eighth
