Kamer hands out program-record eight assists to lead #12 Wingate to 20-4 win at Catawba

Salisbury, N.C.----Wingate University graduate student attack Paige Kamer had a goal and a Wingate record eight assists Wednesday evening, leading #12 Wingate to a 20-4 victory at Catawba College in South Atlantic Conference women's lacrosse action. Wingate improves to 6-2 overall and 2-0 in the SAC, while the Indians fall to 1-7 overall and 0-2 in league play.

FIRST QUARTER

- Pellet scored off a Kamer assist just over three minutes in
- Mary Sorvillo answered less than a minute later to tie it at one
- The Bulldogs scored the next 11 goals, closing the quarter by scoring the final four goals
- Pellet scored off a Higgins assist at the 5:37 mark to put the 'Dogs on top for good
- Knowles scored off Watson's assist 20 seconds later to make it 3-1
- Higgins and Garvin scored in a 12-seconds span to make it 5-1 with 1:55 to go

SECOND QUARTER

- The 'Dogs outscored the Indians 7-0 in the second frame
- Ruiz scored off Caldwell's assist 35 seconds in to start it
- Watson found Knowles for a goal at the 13:21 mark
- Pellet and Ruiz scored in a 19-second span, with Kamer assisting on both to make it 9-1
- Watson and Garvin scored in a 21-second span to make it 11-1 with 6:05 to go
- Pellet scored off Wilgeroth's assist at the 2:18 mark to put WU on top by 11 at halftime

THIRD QUARTER

- Caroline Cox pulled Catawba within 10 at the 13:28 mark
- Blakely scored off a Kamer assist to push the lead back to 11
- Erin Young and Sarah Maier cut the lead to nine with seven minutes left
- Ruiz scored off a Kamer assist with 3:52 remaining to make it 14-4 heading to the fourth

FOURTH QUARTER

- Wingate outscored Catawba 6-0 in the final 15 minutes
- Ruiz scored off a Kamer assist 20 seconds in
- Ruiz and Garvin scored off Higgins assists to make it 17-4 with 10:26 to go
- Kamer found the back of the net at the 6:30 mark off a Koroly assist to push the lead to 14
- Blakely's goal off another Kamer assist with 3:53 remaining made it 19-4
- Scarfogliero capped the scoring with 34 seconds left off a Caldwell assist
