#10 Wingate guarantees share of SAC title with 22-2 win over Coker

Wingate, N.C.----The 10th-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs won their 10th straight game Saturday afternoon, cruising to a 22-2 victory over Coker University in South Atlantic Conference women's lacrosse action at Irwin Belk Stadium. The Bulldogs improve to 14-2 overall and 9-0 in the SAC, while the Cobras fall to 1-12 overall and 0-10 in league play. The victory guarantees at least a share of the regular season SAC title for the Bulldogs. Wingate can claim the outright conference championship next Saturday at Limestone.

- Wilgeroth scored off a Clouser assist to make it 4-0 with 10 minutes left
- Caldwell assisted on goals from Clouser and Fuchs to make it 6-0 at the 9:16 mark
- Hailey Morgan go the Cobras on the board a minute later
- Pellet and Wilgeroth scored off assists from Knowles and Kamer to make it 8-1 with 6:34 remaining
- Pellet's goal a minute later pushed the lead to eight
- Garvin scored off a Higgins assist to make it 10-1 at the 3:19 mark
- Higgins capped the scoring in the frame off a Blakely assist to put the 'Dogs on top 11-1

SECOND QUARTER

- Pellet scored off a Kamer assist four minutes in to make it 12-2
- Watson's goal off a Knowles assist pushed the lead to 11
- Ruiz scored off a Burke assist to make it 14-2 with 4:43 to go
- Gerdes netted her first career goal with 2:07 remaining to push the lead to 13

THIRD QUARTER

- Clouser scored 90 seconds into the second half off a Burke assist
- Kamer assisted on goals from Scherer and Watson to make it 18-2 with 6:51 to go
- Phipps scored her first goal of the year with five minutes left
- Burke scored off a Garvin assist with a minute left to make it 20-2

FOURTH QUARTER

- Knowles scored with 13:41 remaining off a Kamer assist
- Clouser scored off a Garvin assist with 6:32 left to make it 22-2
