‘Dogs open SAC play with 2-0 victory over Eagles

Wingate, N.C.----The Wingate University Bulldogs opened league play in style Saturday afternoon, striking twice in the second half to pick up a 2-0 victory over Carson-Newman University in South Atlantic Conference women's soccer action. The Bulldogs improve to 4-0-1 overall and 1-0 in the SAC, while the Eagles fall to 1-3-1 overall and 0-2 in league play.

- The Eagles out-shot the Bulldogs 17-14
- C-N held a 7-5 advantage in shots on goal
- The 'Dogs took six of the 11 corner kicks
- Wingate was called for eight of the 13 fouls

KEY BULLDOGS

- Caroline Peters scored a goal for the Bulldogs
